About Us

An old church with a living faith.

For generations this church has stood in the North Carolina countryside as a place to know God and be known by His people. That calling hasn't changed.

Our Story

Rooted here for over a century.

Rocky Cross Baptist Church has gathered faithfully in the country between Zebulon and Middlesex for over a hundred years. Generations of families have been baptized, married, and laid to rest here. Through changing seasons, the heart of this church has stayed the same: regular, hard-working people drawn together by an extraordinary God. Today we're a church being renewed - holding tightly to the faith handed down to us while throwing the doors wide open to our neighbors.

Past

Deep roots

Rocky Cross has stood as a country church where generations have worshiped, served, and marked the major moments of life.

Present

Renewed life

We are asking God to renew real people through His Word, real community, and faithful worship.

Welcome

Open door

You do not have to have church figured out before you come. We want neighbors to know Jesus and be known by His people.

Vision

To live selflessly for the sake of Christ and His mission.

Where We Are Going

A church serious about making Jesus known.

We want every guest to feel at home, know what we are about, and see that the gospel shapes how we worship, serve, speak, and live.

01

For the sake of Christ

We want our worship, teaching, service, and decisions to be centered on Jesus.

02

For His mission

We want to make Jesus known clearly in our homes, our community, and our conversations.

03

For our neighbors

We want to live beyond ourselves, serving one another and the people God puts near us.

What We Believe

Baptist convictions, centered on Jesus.

Rocky Cross is a Baptist church. Our convictions are summarized below and stated fully in the Baptist Faith & Message (2000).

The Bible is God's Word.

We believe Scripture is inspired by God, infallible, and inerrant. Because it is true in all that it teaches, it stands as the final authority for what we believe, how we live, and how the church is led.

The Bible

The Bible is God's true and trustworthy Word, without error and fully reliable, the final authority for faith, life, and the mission of the church.

God

There is one living and true God who eternally exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

Jesus is fully God and fully man, crucified for sinners, risen from the dead, and reigning as Lord.

Salvation

Salvation is God's gift of grace, received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.

The Church

The church is a family of baptized believers who worship, serve, make disciples, and care for one another.

Our Hope

Jesus will return, make all things new, and bring His people into everlasting life with God.

Meet the Pastor

Meet Pastor Mason and Savannah.

Pastor Mason Bridges is from Raleigh, and Savannah is from Rolesville. They met at Wake Tech and have been married for more than 15 years.

Mason grew up with his grandmother and brother in a family marked by addiction and alcoholism. By 18, he was walking the same destructive road, chasing whatever sin promised in the moment while carrying the weight of a guilty conscience.

One night, alone in his room, the weight of his sin became undeniable. That night he saw that because of the love of Christ and the cross of Christ, he could leave it all behind and be forgiven. A few years after his conversion, God called him into ministry.

I pastor Rocky Cross because of the love shown by the people here and a deep sense of calling and commitment to see this church become a great force for making Jesus known.
